    Close the books in days,
    not weeks.

Bo Gartner is South Africa's specialist Sage Intacct partner. We implement, optimise, and run cloud finance for mid-market organisations across South Africa, Southern Africa, and beyond — with multi-entity consolidation, SARS-ready VAT, IFRS reporting, and integrations that actually hold.

    Our Approach

    Intacct
    Activation.

We do one thing exceptionally well: stand up Sage Intacct so your finance team can close faster, report deeper, and operate from a single source of truth. Our five-phase Intacct Activation method moves you from legacy systems to a configured, validated, live environment in a predictable window — typical Sage Intacct activations go live in 8 to 14 weeks.

    01

    Discover

Two structured weeks. We map your chart of accounts, dimensions, entities, currencies, and reporting needs; surface integration points; and lock the success criteria for go-live.

    02

    Configure

Multi-entity structure, SARS VAT rates, IFRS-aligned reporting, dimensions for B-BBEE and segment reporting, AP automation, approval workflows. Built in your environment, not a sandbox.

    03

    Migrate

Historic trial balances, open AR/AP, fixed assets, and selected transactional history from Pastel, Sage 50, QuickBooks, Xero, or legacy ERPs. Reconciled and signed off before cut-over.

    04

    Validate

Parallel run, UAT, and audit-trail review with your finance team and external auditors. No surprises at month-end one.

    05

    Go-Live + Hypercare

Cut-over weekend, day-one support, and 90 days of hypercare. We're in the room (or on the call) for your first close and your first audit query.

    Why Sage Intacct, why us

Built for South African finance teams who have outgrown their tools.

Spreadsheets and legacy desktop systems will get a small business to R100 million in revenue. Past that, you need a real cloud financial platform — and an SA-based partner who knows what 'IFRS 15 in ZAR with intercompany at month-end' actually means.

    01

    Multi-entity, multi-currency without spreadsheets

Consolidate ZAR, USD, GBP, and SADC currencies in one environment. Eliminate the month-end Excel marathon.

    02

    SARS-ready VAT and IFRS reporting

VAT201, IFRS-aligned financials, and audit-trail design that survives SARS queries and external audits.

    03

FICA, POPIA, and B-BBEE dimension reporting

Access controls, audit trails, and dimensional reporting structured for SA compliance and B-BBEE scorecards.

    04

    Days-to-close, not weeks

Automated approvals, AP capture, intercompany journals, and reporting — Sage Intacct's published benchmarks show finance teams typically halve their close cycle inside a year.

    05

Dashboards your CEO and board actually use

Real-time dimensional reporting on entity, project, location, department, B-BBEE category — slice however the business runs.

    06

    Implementations that hold under audit

We design with your external auditor in mind. No bolt-ons, no spreadsheet workarounds, no surprises at year-end.

    What we do

    Six services.
    One platform.
    Built for SA mid-market.

Whether you're moving off Pastel, expanding from a single entity to a group, or optimising an existing Sage Intacct deployment, we work with finance leaders who need a partner who knows the platform and the local context.

    Data Migration

The hardest part of any ERP move is the data. We've done it from Pastel Partner, Pastel Evolution, Sage 50, Sage 200, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and a handful of bespoke ERPs.

    Why Bo Gartner

    Specialists,
    not generalists.

Bo Gartner does Sage Intacct. Not Oracle, not SAP, not 'all the cloud ERPs'. We've made a deliberate choice to specialise on one platform so that when you ask us a question — about dimensions, about IFRS 15, about a connector that's misbehaving — you get a real answer from someone who's already solved it.

Our team works from Modderfontein, Gauteng, and is built to serve clients across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. We hold Sage Intacct Premier Partner accreditation and our consultants are Sage Intacct Implementation Specialists.

    Common questions

Sage Intacct, the South African way — your questions, answered.

Most Sage Intacct implementations we run in South Africa go live in 8 to 14 weeks. Single-entity professional services or NGO deployments can land in 6 to 8 weeks. Multi-entity groups with multi-currency consolidation, integrations to Salesforce or payroll, and Pastel/Sage 50 migrations typically run 12 to 16 weeks. Our Intacct Activation method front-loads the scoping in a two-week Discovery phase so the timeline is predictable.

Sage Intacct is licensed annually based on the modules you take and the number of business users. For a typical SA mid-market customer (multi-entity, multi-user, AP automation, dimensional reporting), all-in annual licence costs sit roughly between R250,000 and R800,000 per year, with implementation services costing R350,000 to R1.2 million depending on complexity. Bo Gartner provides a fixed-price quote inside the first week of Discovery so you can budget with confidence.

Xero and Pastel are excellent products for small businesses up to roughly R100 million in revenue or a single entity with simple reporting. Sage Intacct is purpose-built for mid-market organisations that need multi-entity consolidation, IFRS reporting, ASC 606/IFRS 15 revenue recognition, dimensional reporting (project, location, department, B-BBEE), and audit-grade controls. The switch happens when finance teams find themselves doing month-end in spreadsheets — that's Sage Intacct's home ground.

Yes — multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation is core to Sage Intacct. You can run any number of legal entities in any combination of currencies (ZAR, USD, GBP, BWP, NAD, EUR, and so on), with automated intercompany transactions, FX revaluation, currency translation adjustments (CTA), and real-time consolidated reporting. Bo Gartner scopes and delivers Intacct multi-entity deployments for groups operating across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.

Sage Intacct supports SARS VAT through configurable tax codes, VAT201-ready reports, and full audit trails for SARS queries. IFRS reporting — including IFRS 15 revenue recognition, IFRS 16 leases, IFRS 9 financial instruments classification, and consolidated IFRS-aligned management accounts — is supported through native modules and dimensional reporting. Bo Gartner designs your configuration around what your external auditor and SARS will actually ask for, not what looks tidy on a demo screen.

We follow a structured migration path: extract trial balance, customers, suppliers, items, open AR/AP, and selected transactional history from Pastel; map to Sage Intacct's chart of accounts and dimensional model; load via Smart Events or our migration tooling; reconcile side-by-side against Pastel; and run parallel for one period before cut-over. A typical Pastel-to-Intacct migration is a 10 to 14 week engagement.

Sage Intacct integrates natively with Salesforce, HubSpot, ADP, Avalara, Bill.com, Expensify, Stripe, and dozens of other platforms. For the SA stack specifically, Bo Gartner scopes and delivers integrations to SimplePay, PaySpace, Sage 300 People, FNB / Standard Bank / Nedbank / Absa payment files, Paystack, Yoco, and bespoke SARS-facing systems. Where no pre-built connector exists, we build to the Intacct Web Services API.

Sage Intacct is a SOC 1 and SOC 2 certified cloud platform with role-based access controls, full audit trails, and configurable data retention — all the building blocks for POPIA-compliant operation. FICA compliance is a process question rather than a software question; we design your customer/supplier onboarding workflows in Intacct to capture and store FICA documentation against each party, with restricted access and an audit trail of who saw what, when. Final compliance certification is between your organisation and the Information Regulator / FIC, but the platform supports the work.

Post go-live, we provide 90 days of hypercare at no extra cost — daily standups with your finance team through the first close and first audit window. After hypercare, our Managed Support plans give you a named Sage Intacct consultant, a close-cycle SLA, quarterly health checks, year-end and audit support, and on-demand user training. Most clients stay on managed support indefinitely.

Bo Gartner is a certified Sage Intacct Premier/Authorised Partner. Our consultants hold Sage Intacct Implementation Specialist accreditation and we participate in Sage's partner programme for product training, early-access releases, and certified implementation methodology. Sage Intacct is a registered trademark of The Sage Group plc; Bo Gartner is an independent consulting firm and authorised partner.
